Founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune, the NCNW mission is to lead, inform, educate, uplift, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.

The NCNW offers services and programs, educating women on Health, Education and Economic Empowerment.

NCNW values its community and translates its philosophy of public education and advocacy into activities designed to promote a number of benefits for those involved, such as:

Educating and promoting healthy lifestyles

Training and supporting women and youth in career development and community leadership

Supporting economic development and entrepreneurship
